During the five opening months of 2009 the international trade fairs in Germany showed a relative stability of their key figures, nevertheless suffering a decrease.
Whereas in rented space there has been a reduction of 5 %, the attendance at the international trade fairs in Germany until May this year was down by an average of 10 %. The staged international events so far had around 3 % less exhibitors compared to the previous exhibitions.
The statistics provided by AUMA, the Association of the German Exhibition Industry, revealed that the growth rate in the number of exhibitors from abroad was the lowest for a long time on the German trade fair market, obviously due to the global economic crisis. Exhibitor figures are reported to be down especially from China and Central & Eastern Europe.
