ITB Berlin, the largest event for the tourism industry in the world, has announced the first edition of ITB Asia to be held in Singapore in October, 22 - 24, 2008.
Asia is by far the most important travel market of the 21st century, Messe Berlin’s CEO, Raimund Hosch, pointed out. ITB Asia wants to address the new generation of young agent travel executives coming into leading positions, Hosch said.
The Singapore ITB show is due to focus also on Asian medium-sized tourism companies, not having the financial means to participate at the pilot fair in Berlin.
