Around eight participations at trade fairs in the years 2007/2008
Two thirds of the German small and medium-sized companies expect good or even excellent business results for the year 2008; almost 30 % of the SMEs intend fresh engagements.
In Germany there are altogether 3.4 mill medium-sized firms, responsible for some 70 % of employment and around 80 % of apprenticeship.
Concerning future investments the small and medium-sized enterprises are also optimistic. More than 80 % of these firms will invest more in the future or keep their engagements on the same level.
SMEs are also the backbone of the exhibiting industry in Germany. There is a total of around 56,000 German firms using trade fairs and exhibitions as a marketing tool. In the two year period 2007 and 2008 these companies will on average participate at around eight trade fairs, thereof five events in Germany and three abroad. These are the results of a recent trend analysis commissioned by AUMA, the German Association of the Exhibition Industry.
