‘Hot Spot Ukraine’ with over 70 decision makers in Berlin
The number of trade fairs in Ukraine, finding international attention, is constantly increasing. In summer 2008 Ukraine will become a new member of the World Trade Organization and plans an immediate creation of a free trade zone with the European Union. The UEFA EURO 2012 provides already now additional economic impulses. These are reasons enough to know better about the Ukrainian market, not at least about its fairs and exhibitions as trade platforms.
Therefore, the Berlin based KME Consulting Group, an international consultancy, specialized in fairs and media, invited end of February to the Euro Business Dialogue - ‘Hot Spot Ukraine’. More than 70 representatives from politics, associations and the diplomatic corps as well as exhibition and media specialists followed the invitation to the Berlin Capital Club.
At the business event, which was exclusively sponsored by Schenker Deutschland, important Ukrainian trade associations, the leading publishing house in the IT sector and Euroindex, the top exhibition organiser with at present more than 20 specialist trade fairs presented themselves. One of the main topics of the presentation was „Doing Business in Ukraine“. The visa free entrance from the EU as well as from the CIS states into the Ukraine was considered as a major asset, not counting further location advantages, especially well trained labour force.
The assignment of the UEFA EURO 2012 already brings many positive economic effects, especially for the development of country’s infrastructure and the tourism industry.
The most important exhibition city in Ukraine is in fact the country’s capital Kiev. The leading exhibition venue is KyivExpoPlaza with 28.000 sqm hall capacity. Smaller exhibition facilities can be found in the cities of Donezk, Kharkiv and since a few weeks in Lyiv.

The KME Consulting Group already organized before an event for the ‘Hot Spot Russia’. Further events, providing a high level platform for representatives from the exhibition industry, the media, economic and politics sector, are at present under preparation for the markets of Turkey and Kazakhstan.
